Children

MatwithIronMen
Our aim is that the kids develop friendships with each other, learn about God and have fun. Children are a valued part our church and all children are welcome to come along! As well as groups on Sunday mornings, we are planning some parties for the summer, and kids are always welcome at events such as Love Bournville.

Lynn Braden - Intern for Children

My name is Lynn and I am the Intern for Children at Pavilion Christian Community. I was born and raised in Ohio, USA and graduated from Cincinnati Christian University in May 2014 with degrees in Christian Education, with a focus in Children’s Ministry, and Biblical Studies. Since I’m American, it means that I have a funny accent, but please don’t hold that against me :)

The children at PCC love to have fun! (I’m convinced that the children have a lot more fun on a Sunday morning than the adults do, but I may be biased.) In addition to playing games and having a great time, we also share about life and God together every single week. The children bring so much life to the church by being in the main service with the adults for worship and communion before going out to their own classes and we love the energy and excitement that they bring!
Come and check us out!

Sunday Morning Groups

We encourage all children to join in with worship in the main service. The groups go out during quiet prayer and the sermon, then they rejoin their families for communion, which inludes grapes and bread for children.

  • Crèche (babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers) This group has songs, stories, craft and oodles of fun. Parents are welcome to stay in crèche with their children. Leaders of this group wear lanyards.

Ignite
  • Ignite (school years reception and 1-2)  This group plays games, and learns through stories/lessons, craft and activities.  If you have a child who is age 4, we will be looking to you for guidance on which class your child will flourish in best – either crèche or Ignite.

Illuminate
  • Illuminate (school years 3-6)  This group plays games and learns about the Bible in a relevant way. This group can be very noisy and energetic, but also calm and relaxed.

Our children’s ministry is based on teams who are passionate about children having fun, learning about God and experiencing His love through the local church.  Our desire is to have a safe and healthy environment and because of this all regular volunteers have a serving agreement and DBS.  We have a safeguarding policy which is available for the church community upon request.
